OTR gives you a link. Anyone can open a chat with you through it — wearing a mask. They stay a mystery until they decide not to be. Or until a game decides for them.
Well — some awkwardness. That's the fun bit.
Grab otr.app/you, drop it in your bio, story, or a group chat you've been suspiciously quiet in.
Anyone can open a chat. You see "Mystery #1", a colour, and their words. Nothing else. Not even to us on the way through.
They can reveal themselves at any point. You can ask nicely once a day. Nothing gets re-sent or deleted — the chat just gets a name.
Roulette raises the stakes. Spin. Land on a question and answer it honestly in the chat. Land on the loaded chamber and your mask comes off — or you bail, and the mystery stays a mystery forever.
Same rules for both of you. The house never plays.
Masks are for fun, not for hiding. Every control below is one tap, and every one of them works even while the other person is masked.
Block a mystery and they're blocked as a person — not just that thread. They can't come back with a new mask.
Accept masked messages, friends only, or pause your link entirely. Existing chats keep working either way.
Reports go to a human with the sender's real account attached. The mask hides them from you, never from us.
Only if they tell you — by unmasking, or by losing at roulette. There's no back door, no "hint", no paid reveal.
Text only, up to 500 characters a message. Photos and voice unlock once they unmask.
Yes. No ads, no reveal-for-cash. If we ever charge for something it'll be cosmetic and it'll be obvious.
The chat gets their name and avatar. Every earlier message stays exactly as it was. Nothing is re-sent, nothing is deleted.
Takes 20 seconds. Pick a handle, share it, wait.
